Location of Activities

Project’s joint activities will be implemented in programme’s eligible area covering 2 territories, one in Greece (R.U. FLORINA) and the other one in RNM (R.U. PELAGONIA) so as to meet the TP of the programme.

Y.M.C.A. back in 1990 decided to launch its programme in Nymfaio in the mountainous beautiful area of the prefecture of Florina, in one of the most popular touristic destinations on a global scale. The camp programme includes horse riding, mountain biking, lake activities etc. Since 1995, it has been operating on a privately owned site of 4 hectares. All of the facilities are in harmony with the natural environment, respecting the traditional architecture of the region. It this camp centre, infrastructure works will take place according to a study that has been developed aiming at extending the accomodation offer in rural setting as well as extending the traveler season to this part of Greece.

Pelister National Park, PP3, one of the oldest on the Balkans, is located in the south-western part of the RNM and abounds with various types of flora and fauna and relief which makes it ideal destination for adventure tourism. Infrastructure works will be implemented, according to a study that has been developed, for the construction of an adventure park for all age. In the newly developed adventure park there will be protected climbing routes classified in different levels of difficulty allowing non-expert climbers to reach high altitudes in a safe way (via ferrata,zip line).
